Born to Perry O. and Sophia Anna Koenic Mullikin.
Married to Charles "C.B." Royston on July 27, 1940, in Santa Fe, N.M.,they had one daughter,Charyl Jean Royston Winslett. Grandmother to Wesley and Charles Winslett, great grandmother to seven and a great great grandmother to one.
They came to Stephens County in 1941, living near Johnson Corner and later, Comanche. Bessie taught school for over 50 years, retiring from Comanche Public Schools in 1991. Bessie loved to work crossword puzzles, embroider and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed traveling with the United Methodist Foundation Women's Group on mission trips to Costa Rica and Alaska. She was a member of Comanche First United Methodist Church and Stephens County Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Charyl Jean Winslett; four brothers; and a sister. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charyl Winslett Scholarship Fund, or the Parks Cemetery Fund.
Bessie was the kindest soul you could ever find, she always had a smile. She will be missed but never forgotten, there are to many memories to ever let that happen.
