HAND MADE SOME WONDERFUL BUILINGS OUT OF MATCH STEMS AND MOUNTAINS AND TUNNELS OUT OF PAPER MACHE. MARRIED IRIS SMITH IN 1955, FATHER OF RENEE COX, YVETTE WATKINS, SHAWN WALDOCK, KEVIN WALDOCK AND AARON WALDOCK. PAPA TO MANY GRAND'S AND GREAT GRAND'S. A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND KEEP US LAUGHING.

Raymond A. "Ray" Waldock Jr., 77, of Interlachen, died Sunday, February 6, 2000, at his residence following an extended illness. He was a native of Buffalo, New York and had been a resident of Putnam County for the past 50 years, first living in Palatka and for the past 38 years in Interlachen. He was a U.S.Navy veteran of World War II and had been a prisoner of war. He was a former employee of Huntley Brothers in Palatka. He had owned and operated the former Waldock Sign Co. in Interlachen. He had volunteered his services as a sign painter for local volunteer fire departments and churches. He had worked for Georgia-Pacific Corp. in Palatka in Tissue Shipping for 28 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the River Road Baptist Church in Palatka and the American Legion Woodworth-Webb Post No.293 in Interlachen. He was a former secretary and member of the Interlachen Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed model railroading and was a member of the Florida Sunshine Railroading Association.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith B. Henry and daughter and son-in-law, Renee' and Donnie Cox.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Iris Smith Waldock of Interlachen; sons, Roy Allen
Waldock of Seattle, Washington,Shawn Waldock of Wilson, North Carolina,Kevin Waldock of Interlachen, And Aaron Waldock of Jacksonville; daughter, Yvette Watkins of Palatka; father-in-law Ira Smith of Palatka; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday,7 P.M. at the Masters Funeral Home of Palatka with Rev. Ted Jones officiating. Military honors will be bestowed by the American Legion Woodworth-Webb Post No 293 of Interlachen. A private burial will be held at a later time.
Memorial gifts may be sent to the Rodeheavers Boys Ranch, HC1, Box RBR, Palatka, Florida 32177 or to a favorite charity.
