McKay, Sidney Clinton age 86, passed away Thursday May 25, 2006 at Interfaith Care Center in Carlton, MN. Sidney was born May 1, 1920 in Anoka, MN to Howard and Ellen McKay. He married Lorna Wellman June 28, 1952. Sidney retired from Federal Cartridge with 40 years of service. He moved to the Cloquet area in 1987 and did Sid's Sharpening on North Road for 17 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Milton and Floyd, and a daughter, Sharon Stierns. Sidney is survived by his wife, Lorna McKay of Carlton, MN; son, Dennis (Cindy) McKay of Andover, MN; brother, Elmer McKay of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Melinda Stierns of Cloquet, MN, Christopher and Sarah McKay of Andover, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday June 3, 2006 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN. Chaplain Bridget Strudwick will be officiating. There will be a one hour visitation before, and a reception following services. Services entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, (218) 624-5200.
