John Graeve was my great grandfather, my mothers grandfather. He was born to Gerhard Graeve and Caterina [Hendiffer]Graeve. I did not know him as he died before I was born.He married Mary Jane Bradley on October 31,1882 in St Pauls Catholic Church in Philadelphia,Pa.They had eight children,Mary [my grandmother]Harry,Catherine,Frances,Peter,Edward,Anna and Ida.My greatgrandfather was in the Army during the Indian Wars in the Western United States. I was told that he was suppose to be with Custer on the day of Little Big Horn. I believe he was discharged that day from the army. I am so happy he did not have to go. I believe my greatgrandfather liked the Indians and was happy he did not have to particapate on that murderous day.He was a strong man. My mother talked of him with pride. He passed at age 77.
I want to thank everyone who stops by and leaves a token on his site. God Bless.
I want to thank my cousin Colleen for the info on my great grandfather and Marian Mahon for the wonderful family tree that Colleen came across and for the information I never knew. Thank you and God Bless
