Joan Hume McCracken
Birth: Dec. 31, 1917
Philadelphia County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Nov. 1, 1961
New York County (Manhattan)
New York, USA

Actress and dancer who had a short life owing to a diabetic condition. She is best remembered for her theatre work in "Oklahoma" and her bright and breezy performance in the film "Good News" 1947 singing and dancing "Pass the Peace Pipe". A caring woman who loved animals and people she was let down badly by people who should have known better. With nobody taking the time to have a memorial built for her she left all her belongings to friends and family. Her ashes were sent in a carboard box to her mother after the funeral.
A real trouper if ever there was one.
Father was Franklyn T McCracken. Her mother was Joan!

In Remembrance of a superb talent. Gifted with a sense of whimsy and an ironic sense of humor, the fact that your ashes were reportedly lost after being returned to your mother would have almost made you smile....
