Thomas Presley

Farmer and veteran of the Civil War, Company G, 3rd Michigan Volunteer Cavalry (1863-1866). Despite being based in Michigan, Thomas joined up with the unit in Jackson, Tennessee. The outfit was assigned to patrol the Mississippi River from southern Missouri to northern Mississippi, but actually spent several months camped around St. Louis due to lack of available horses. Thomas left the service in San Antonio at the end of the war and spent the rest of his days around Finley, Tennessee, as a farmer.
