Arnold "Sleepy" Jackson, age 84, of Florence, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009.
Visitation was Friday, Jan. 9, at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Bill Hall, Brother Lee Wildman and Brother Billy Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mr. Jackson was a member of the Church of Christ and was retired from Reynolds Alloys. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Jackson; daughter, Carolyn Southerland; grandson, Leebo Southerland; and two infant daughters.
Survivors include children, Brenda Bullington, Jane Randolph and Charles Jackson; brothers, Leonard Jackson Jr., Bobby Joe Jackson; sisters, Pearlie Goodwin, Ellawese Jackson; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; special son-in-law, Terry Randolph; and his cat, "Pretty Girl Survivor."
