Margaret was the daughter of Daniel Raymond Rogers and Mildred Virginia Griffin. She spent her childhood growing up between Los Angeles, where her paternal grandmother lived and Houston, where her maternal grandmother lived.
Her Family Settled for a time in Hemet, CA. In 1965 she met Arley Alfred Ash, son of Arley Rual Ash and Fannie Beatrice Grigg. They married December 7th of that year. Mom and Dad divorced and in 1973, She moved with her children from Hemet to Palo Alto. She was a resident of Palo Alto for 27 years. In 2000 she moved to Lodi, Ca to be near her children and grandchildren.
She was the mother of two; myself and my brother, James Patrick Ash (Galloway). She was Grandmother to Caitlin Rose and Thomas Lee Grisell; She adored the two of them and they adored her. She would come to see them almost everyday after work; reading to them, taking them on walks and doing whatever they needed or wanted her to do; Caitlin's guest at a make believe tea party or giving "horsey" back rides to Tommy. She was often seen being pulled around the house or yard by one little hand or another. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved her family completely and unconditionally.
She was an advocate for the the homeless and those less fortunate. She genuinely cared about all people. She volunteered at soup kitchens and resource centers and rallied politically for the poor. She believed that in spite of all its problems, the world still was truly a beautiful place and that humanity was worth the good fight.
She was sweet and kind and had a curious spirit. She loved the simple things in life especially nature and animals. She had so many good qualities but her best was that she was honest and real. There was nothing pretentious about my mom. She rarely went to church and she never "preached", but she always had her bible close by and was one of the most Christian people I've ever known. She was an angel on earth as she is now in Heaven.
We Love and Miss Her so Very Much.
