|Birth: ||Jun. 26, 1956|
|Death: ||Oct. 16, 1995|
Robert was a SGT in US Air Force; he served a tour of duty in Korea. Robert worked for the US Postal Service for 14 years. He married Cathy Marie Goerg on November 14, 1975. Robert adopted Cathy's child; Cathy and Robert had a child of their own. Cathy and Robert divorced in April of 1979. 1980 brought William "Bill" Hartman into Robert's life. Bill and Robert were life partners until Bill's death in June of 1994.
Robert loved Christmas and lights. His home in Miami won several yearly awards and was featured in Christmas issues of the Miami Herald for seven years prior to Hurricane Andrew. The Miami Airport jokingly said they would have to start redirecting flights to come in from the North otherwise they might be blinded by the lights on 112th street in the Perrine district. The inside of his home was decorated abundantly and lit up as well. Robert and his life mate, Bill Hartmann hosted parties every night from Christmas Eve through New Years Eve for over 10 years. They both worked for the US Postal Service, were members of the Naranja Nazarene Church and on local neighborhood committees. So there was never a shortage of attendees to any of their parties. He could not be with family (due to distance and job); but made up for it with friends. Death-Age: 39 years, 3 months and 20 days

FAMILY NOTE: Hurricane Andrew struck on August 24, 1992. Robert Lee's and Bill Hartmann's home on 112th street was partially destroyed. It was over a year before their home was completely repaired. The physical health of both Robert and Bill steadily declined from that point on. Disease and bacteria was prevalent all over Dade County. Pneumonia, tuberculosis and other diseases struck down many people for years following Andrew's devastation. Their home in Montgomery County on Plantation Key received only minimal damage, their boat was untouched. Robert and Bill never recovered their physical health. Bill passed away June 1994 and Robert in October 1995. After sitting out a devastating storm in a bathroom hallway, with their dog, Sandy and a fellow employee and her mother; Robert, Bill and Sandy are safe and warm in a East facing crypt in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Monee, Illinois. They are high enough up that only a flood of Noah's magnitude could ever hurt them again.
