POLKVILLE Mrs. Norma Jean Wood Collins, 59, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Century Care of Shelby.
Born in Cleveland County, Mrs. Collins was a daughter of the late James Franklin Wood and Era Mae Wright Wood Fortenberry. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Wood. She was a winder operator at Dora Mill, Cherryville and a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.
Mrs. Collins is survived her husband of 12 years, Bobby Dean Collins Sr.; sons, David Queen and wife, Kristi, of Mooresboro and Johnny Smith and wife, Angie, of Lawndale; a daughter, Joy Queen and Heath King of Perry, Fla.; stepsons, Daniel Collins of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Bobby Dean Collins Jr. of Huntersville; a brother, James Wood of Shelby; a sister, Eliza-beth Meade Griffin of Shelby; two grandsons, Jeffrey Rod Jenkins of Lake Wylie, S.C. and Michael Warren Smith of Lawndale; and stepgrandson, William Collins of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
