| Birth: | Sep. 27, 1964 District Of Columbia, USA | | Death: | May 20, 2005 Belville Brunswick County North Carolina, USA | (PUBLISHED OBITUARY) Karen Lorraine Courter, 40, a 5th grade teacher for 4 years at Belville elementary, died of what now appears to have been an aneurysm on May 20th, 2005, after leading a pep-rally to boost student confidence in their test-taking abilities. Karen's smile, spirit and zest for life were contagious. She will be remembered as an incredible and selfless wife and mother. To know Karen was to have a true friend. She strove to bring out the best in her students. She was always willing to help others and was an incurable optimist who loved life with a passion seldom seen. Karen never took the world for granted. She never lost her sense of wonder for things that many overlook. She will be missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Christopher (31); their children, Christopher, Jr. (20), serving his country in Korea, Mitchell (19), and Aerie (11).
Karen's giving spirit lives on through her organ donations.
