Charlotte Anderson Page
Birth: Feb. 1, 1838
Västra Götalands län, Sweden
Death: Jun. 21, 1920
Grand Island
Hall County
Nebraska, USA

Christened Maximiliana Charlotta, Charlotte was born in Eriksberg Parish, Älvsborgs [now Västra Götaland] Län, Sweden, the daughter of Nikolaus "Nils" Andersson and Anna Maria Petersdotter. Under the patronymic naming system then used in Sweden, her surname would have been Nikolaus- or Nilsdotter.

After "crossing the pond," Charlotte and her husband, Johann August Pehrsson, no longer bound by patronymics, chose to Americanize their names. She became Charlotte Anderson and he opted for August Page, the surname used by his brother, John, who'd immigrated earlier.

Charlotte and August were the parents of eleven known children [the first three born in Sweden]: Pehr Linus, Amanda Josephine, Adolph, Matilda Hannah, Anna, John, William Albert, Clara Charlotte, Lafene, Emma Elizabeth and Alvin Oscar Page.
