Billie Jean died at the young age of 4, due to pneumonia contracted after a skull fracture from a car accident.

Child of Negro Residents Suffered Injuries in Car Wreck Oct. 1
Billie Jean Grimes, the 4-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Grimes, negro residents of Trenton, died at 12:50 Sunday afternoon at their home at 1551 Cedar Street of injuries she suffered in a motor car accident Oct. 1.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Second Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. G. O. Graves, pastor of the A.M.E. church. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery.
The child sustained a fractured skull, a nose fracture and other injuries when a car driven by Freddie Helm turned over on Pleasant Plain Road a mile north of the Q.O. and K. C. railroad tracks.
Mr. and Mrs. Grimes and another daughter, Minnie Grace, were also riding in the car. Mrs. Grimes sustained minor injuries and the others were uninjured.
Besides her parents, the child is survived by one sister, Minnie Grace (#60115639) and her grandmother, Parthelia Smith-Falls (#60120867) of Trenton and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Slaughter (#60121150) of Kansas City.
