Albert Winter Sr., 85, 3209 Fourth Ave Place, died early Sunday morning (August 27, 1945) in his sleep. Death attributed to heart failure.
Born in Hamburg, Germany Feb. 18, 1860, Mr. Winter came to the United States and directly to Sioux City in 1889, and this had since been his home. He married Bertha Harupi in Germany in 1883. He was employed with Cudahay Packing Co. until his retirement. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of Herman Lodge 2.
Survivors include his widow; six sons, Ernest R., Hans, Fred and Carl, all of Sioux City, Albert Jr. of Oregon City, Ore., and Richard of Renton, Wash.; four daughters, Anna Grubel and Lena Dinkel, both of Sioux City, Marie Cook of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Pauline Oien of Minneapolis; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.
