Daniel enlisted for Civil War army service on July 30, 1862 in Company F, 103rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, at Wellington, Ohio in Lorain County for a term of 3 years. Occupation: Painter. He was mustered out with Company F on June 12, 1865 at Raleigh, North Carolina at the end of his term of service which coincided with the end of the war. Rank: Private. His name is incorrectly spelled "Salsberry" in the Official roster of Ohio Soldiers.
