Oklahoma native Rev. Annie Mae Farmer ["Sister Farmer" as most called her] a beloved pastor of Pioneer Assembly of God in Pioneer,Louisiana.Rev. Annie Mae Farmer Allen came to pastor Pioneer Assembly of God in 1958, my mother joined the church in 1963 and has been a member ever since along with myself.she was the pastor for 53 years. she was ordained with the Assembly of God church in Lake Charles,La in 1973. she was the WM Director for the Northeast section of the Assemblies of God Church for 35 years. she served as the head counselor for the Assemblies of God Camp Ground for many years. she was employed as Insurance Agent with Kidder Cox Insurance for 35 years. she married her first husband Arthur Brown Farmer in 1943 when she was 16, they had 2 children. he died in 1999. her 2nd marriage was to Rev. J.E. Allen they married on Feb.2,2008 he died later that same year 2008 of cancer. she decided to take back her first husband's name "Farmer" so that is why I'm not adding Allen on to her name and she was a Farmer for 55 years and most only knew her as "Sister Farmer". she died at age 84 after her trailer caught fire in Pioneer,La.also passing away in the fire was her best friend Rev.Mary Greer Oliver [who along with her husband was staying with her because Sister Farmer had a bad fall and was recovering from heart surgery.] and Sister Farmer's loving dog Odie died with the 2 women..Mary Oliver's husband Rev. David Oliver was awaken by the fire he tried to put it out but was unsuccessful he ran out to get the waterhose but the fire quickly spread he could not get the women out of the trailer. she was preceded in death by her husbands Arthur Farmer and J.E. Allen; father J.E. Swain and mother Lela Gertrude Johnson Swain.step-mother Hattie Swain; she was survived by her 2 children. her daughter Patricia Lisenbea and her husband Conley of Dunn,La; and her son Arthur Ray Farmer and his wife Karen of Holly Ridge,La;2 step-daughters Marigold Cheshire and husband Mike and Marcia Lednicke and husband Maurice; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. a sister Lela Faye Young of Rayville,La.3 [half]brothers Waymon Swain and wife Tommie of Bastrop,La, Lloyd Swain and wife Linda of Oak Ridge,La Floyd and Donna Swain of Holly Ridge,La; 4 [half] sisters Mildred Carroll of Rayville,La, Bobbie Nell Haston of Alexandria,La, Betty Carraway of Pineville,La and Ida Ruth Morgan and husband Jimmy of Holly Ridge,La; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3pm Sunday March 11,2012 at Harvest Assembly of God in Oak Grove,La under the direction of Cox Funeral Home Oak Grove,La. we are heart broken by the loss of of Sister Farmer and Sister Mary Greer Oliver.but they are with their Lord and Savior now. they will be missed very much.
