Mary Bailey was my Grandmother. She always sent quarters with the birthday cards to her grandchildren, and she never forgot a birthday. One of her favorite holidays was "decoration day" or memorial day. She would spend several days getting ready for her house full of company, then after dinner, we all went out to the cemetery in Gate to decorate graves. The whole town would be out there and everyone would stand around and visit. She made the best pie and coffee that I ever had.
When she died, my daughter Sara (who called her 'Grandma Great Bailey') placed a red rose in her casket.
Rest well sweet Grandma. We miss you.
