Her Mausoleum is 17 feet tall, and 17 feet long representing the years of her life.
Originally Charlotte Canda herself had been designing this Mausoleum for her aunt when she herself died in a carriage accident on the way home from her birthday celebrations. Her father adorned the Mausoleum with parrots, and other decor that symbolized the things she loved in life.
One year after her death, her fiance Charles took his own life in grief. His gravestone is to the right of her mausoleum. Since her family was Catholic and her Mausoleum was to be on consecrated gound, he was not allowed to be buried near her.
