Civil War Union Soldier
Perry was born in Brookfield, Eaton County Michigan. When he was barely 18 he joined the union forces. He was in Co.F 38th infantry out of Iowa. They fought in the battle of Vicksburg. They underwent many hardships and he died in Brownsville, Texas. He was buried there and later removed to Alexandria National Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana.
Perry was my mother's uncle..
The Civil War destroyed many families and our family was devastated when Perry never made it home..so many never made it home and I want to remember those that didn't so any token left for Perry is for all the men that never came home....north or south.
