He was raised on his parent's farm in Jefferson Twp. (Tipton Co.), IN. About 1923, his cousin, Mary Belle Skinner, came to live with Richard and his parents until she married. Richard was married twice. His first marriage was to Thelma (unk. maiden name). That marriage ended in a divorce and produced no children. His second marriage was to Carol Vaughn, sometime before 1958. This marriage also ended in divorce, but produced one son, Thomas King. Richard was a farmer and lived in Tipton County most of his life.
Richard was a WWII Veteran. He served as a PFC in Co. D - 3rd Chemical BN of the 4th Division in the US Army - serving in the European Theater.
Richard and his parents, Arthur and Mae King, are buried on the same lot in the Kempton Cemetery. Family links: Parents: Arthur C. King (1880 - 1968) Della Mae Davidson King (1882 - 1968)
