Born Aug. 17, 1937, in Pleasant Unity, she was the daughter of the late Gladys (Gross) Wilkins and Paul L. Wilkins.

She was a member of the 11th Pennsylvania Preservation Foundation, the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Co. K, Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg and the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association. She also served on the GBPA's board of directors, which oversees the restoration of the Daniel Lady Farm.

She is former owner of The Gospel Truth and Civil War Room, in Ligonier, and began employment at the American Civil War Museum upon moving to Gettysburg in 1999. She was also employed for a short period at Four Winds Studios.

She is survived by a stepbrother, Carl Santmyer of New Mexico, and several cousins.

The memorial service will be on Sept. 19, 2005, at 11:30 a.m., in the Abigail Adams Ballroom, in the Dobbin House Restaurant, 89 Steinwehr Ave., in Gettysburg.
