| Birth: | Feb. 16, 1905 University City St. Louis County Missouri, USA | | Death: | Aug. 5, 1994 Hillsboro Washington County Oregon, USA | Our grandfather John was the son of Frank Borowski and Dora Kwiatkowski.
John was the beloved brother of Joseph M., Frances Katherine, Mary Agnes, Francis, Jr., and Anna Clara.
"Pop" moved to Los Angeles in the early 1920s, looking for work. Soon, he found himself the owner of a small car wash. He married our grandmother Mildred Mary Schorer in 1926 and he was a loving father of three.
After Pop and Mildred divorced in 1934, he married Robbie Irene Jennings in Los Angeles on December 1, 1937. They owned and operated Penny Roofing Company on Exposition Boulevard for many years.
During World War II, Pop had a contract to help build barracks to house Army personnel who were receiving training in the California desert.
Pop and Robbie retired to Salton City, California, where they made many friends. They were very social and loved entertaining guests at home.
Pop was a good man. He was always very generous with his children and grandchildren. Pop definitely worked hard and played hard. He was fun-loving, an avid fisherman, a gifted craftsman who loved making birdhouses and items made of wood, a die-hard Dodgers fan, a lifelong registered Democrat, and he had a great sense of humor. In his 80s, he complained he couldn't get in nine holes of golf anymore because his golfing buddies kept dying on him. He will never be forgotten by those who knew him. We love you, Pop.
