Kodiak, also known by me as Kodachrome and KoKo Bear, was the male pick of the litter out of my first long planned breeding of the Shiloh bloodline. I was very into the German Shepherd breed in the 80s, showing and training them. Kody's mother was from a kennel in New York. Kody was conceived in Atlanta. My dad and I traveled there via car with his dam, Nikki, to be bred to Shiloh Rommel von Eichenburg, his sire. WHAT a road trip that was!
Kody was a giant, 28 inches at the shoulder, 140 pounds. Too big to show according to the AKC breed standard, so I obedience and protection trained him. He also sired some gorgeous puppies for me. Kody was put to sleep at age 10 due to a spinal degeneration problem. He had lost the use of his back legs, but was a trooper right up to the end.
Take care of Daddy in Heaven, Koko Bear. Mama misses you.
