Margaret "Pearl" Brown, 79, of Connersville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 18, 2013, at her residence.
One of nine children, she was born May 6, 1934, the daughter of the late James A. and Nellie French Thompson; she attended Connersville Schools.
On April 22, 1950, she was married in the parsonage of the East Side United Methodist Church to Lavone "Gene" Brown of Connersville.
Pearl enjoyed raising roses, watching hummingbirds and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she loved camping and sitting in the river, acting as a lifeguard to the neighborhood kids when her own children were growing up.
A loving and dedicated homemaker, especially devoted to her children, she was a member of the East Side United Methodist Church; for many years, she assisted in the decorating of the sanctuary windows during all the holiday seasons.
Besides her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Gene, she is survived by three children, Jack Lee Brown and his wife Regina, Connie Sue Gribbins and her husband Eddy, both of Connersville, and Rose Marie Harris and her husband David of Woodstock, Illinois, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren (and one on the way), one great-great-grandchild (and one on the way), two brothers, Dean Thompson and his wife Marlene of Marion, Indiana and Gene Thompson and his wife Patty of Jonesboro, Indiana, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ben and Bill Ward and James, Jesse and Bob Thompson, a sister, Dorothy Reed, and an infant sibling, Mary.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1 PM Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home; burial will be in Dale Cemetery – family and friends may call at the Funeral Home from 11 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday; they may also visit anytime online at millermosterrobbins.com.
Memorial contributions may be made to East Side United Methodist Church.
