Cowpens, S.C. - Samuel Edison Goode, Sr., 74, of 104 Dogwood Lane, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of the late Brenda Pittman Goode and son of the late Fait Edison Goode and Daisy Mae Lee Goode.
Mr. Goode was a graduate of Cowpens High School and retired from Sunny Slope Farms. He was an avid fisherman, loved woodworking and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is a son, Sammy Goode, Jr. and wife, Darlene of Boiling Springs, S.C.; two daughters, Candy Wood and husband, Tommy of Cowpens and Robin Hernandez of Cowpens; two step-daughters, Tammy Hill and Crystal Bradley, both of Gaffney; two sisters-in-law, Gayle Goode of Waterloo and Edith Goode of Chicago; five grandchildren, Chad Goode, Maria Hernandez, Bo Bradley, Cameron Bradley and Connor Ellis; one great-grandchild, Austin Goode.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Goode and Harold Goode.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Powell officiating. Interment will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens.
