Deceased Name: Jessie R. Chidester
SANDY--Jessie Mildred Redden Chidester , loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, January 10, 1993 in the Crossland Care Center.
She was born in Park City, October 13, 1909 the daughter of Samuel Grant and Ellen Mc Grath Redden. She attended school in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. Married Clinton A. Chidester , December 16, 1931; later solemnized in the LDS Temple March 11, 1965. A member of the LDS Church, she served diligently in many capacities. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her deep Christian attitude of charity and love toward everyone. She could lift spirits with her quick sense of humor and a natural ability to speak from an endless memory of songs and poetry that brought laughter and joy to all those who heard. Her example that work and service bring joy inspired in her children and grandchildren a willingness to do as she taught.
Preceded in death by her husband Clinton A. Chidester ; brother, William Redden; and Sister, Maxine Schiess.
Survived by five children, Richard and Kathy Chidester , Kent and Thelma Chidester , Helen and Fred Willoughby, Jeanne and Ron Frederickson, Linda and Dr. David Miller; 43 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren; brothers, Phillip Redden, Jack Reeves, Salt Lake City; sister, Margaret Smith, Denver, Colorado.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 1993, 12 noon at the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. Calvary.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions for the American Cancer Society, 941 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
