Robert Partin Hays was the son of George Newton Hays and his first wife, Lurana Partin. Although found with the spelling of "Parton", I believe it likely that the spelling of Robert's middle name was Partin (mother's maiden name) rather than Parton. however, I have not found documentation to substantiate this one way or the other. Similarly, Robert and his wife, Elizabeth, first daughter was Lurana Elizabeth. The spelling of her name is sometimes found in documentation as Lurena. I believe it likely that the name was spelled with an A.
