Son of John & Elizabeth Collins Burnside Sr. Husband of Susan Swisher Burnside. He past 30yrs prior to his wife. Causes unknown as many of his family led long lives. They had eight known children Juliann, James M., Charlotte, Lucretia, John L., Joseph O., Margaret J.,and Mary Elizabeth. This whole family lived in Harrison county, now West Virginia near Good Hope. The Burnside Family was a big part of the original settlement in this part of Virginia.
