Birth: Jul. 15, 1915
Death: Mar. 1, 2010

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. – Ecclesiastes 3:1

A time to be born…
Louise Blanding Pinckney, better known as "Shuler", was the eldest child born to the late Eleanor Gethers Blanding Washington and Adam Blanding on July 15, 1915. After the death of Adam, Eleanor married the late Rev. Guy Washington who assumed the role of father to Shuler and her other siblings.

A time to die…
On Monday, March 1, 2010 at 5:10 in the afternoon, Shuler very quietly accepted the call to a better home. She surrendered her earthly body to assume her place with our Heavenly Father, who loves her far more than we do.

A time to plant…
On January 15, 1942, Louise was joined in Holy Wedlock to the late Joe Pinckney, where she most graciously accepted the role of mother to the nine (9) children from Joe's previous marriage which ended when his first wife, the late Lela Mack passed away.

A time to build up…
Louise's Christian life began at Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church, Pineville, South Carolina where she was confirmed at an early age. After her marriage, she joined St. Michael Reformed Episcopal Church where she served faithfully on the Choir, Missionary Board, Usher Board and other numerous organizations in the church. In 1985, St. Michael merged with Calvary Reformed Episcopal Church and Louise then continued her Christian walk as she became the "Matriarch" of the Church, serving on the Senior Choir, Missionary Society, Sunday School and various other organizations in Calvary Reformed Episcopal Church.

Shuler was among the saints who founded the "Candle Light Pageant" in the 1980s and she got pleasure from the souls that were being saved from this program.

She was one of the founding members of St. Stephen Chapter No. 158, Order of the Eastern Star. Louise worked faithfully and held many officers while serving on the Usher Board Union #6. She was a dedicated soldier in every respect until she became ill.

Those left to cherish her memories and to carry on in her footsteps are: her loving eleven (11) children, Regenia P. Lanham of Washington, DC, Leon Pinckney of Pacoima, CA, Clarence Pinckney of Charleston, SC, Bobby (Shirley) Pinckney of Bronx, NY, Benjamin (Ann) Pinckney of Bronx, NY, Andrew Pinckney of the home in St. Stephen, SC, William James (Bettye) Pinckney of White Plains, NY, Delphia Pinckney of Cortland Manor, NY, Barbara Ann (Larry) Jordan of Bedford Hills, NY, Joann P.
