Volnia married (2) Maude Dolman Wells Maude was born 11 August 1893 in Christian County, KY the daughter of Samuel Wyatt Wells and Mary Eliza Dillingham Wells.
His mother Ann Mannahan Coombs died early 1900 and is buried in Hopkins County, KY in an unmarked grave. After Ann's death Chris Coombs married her cousin Hettie Rosetta Oglesby (my grandmother)

FUNERAL OF V. A. COMBS AT EASTON CHAPEL
The funeral of V. A. Combs, who passed away last Tuesday at the early age of 38 years (following an attack of flu-pneumonia) was held from the Easton chapel Thursday afternoon at 2:30, the services were conducted by Mrs. Arthur B. Wells who spoke very highly of his beautiful character. Mrs. Ivan Harrisburger and Mrs. B. J. Wilcox sang "The Eastern Gate" and "Abide With Me." Miss Nellie Corning accompained on the piano. Beautiful flowers banked the casket and the chapel was well filled with friends to pay their last respect to the departed. The pall bearers were Leslie Lloyd, John McNulty, C. G. McCandless, Joe Keenen, John Fabrizio and Roy Sisk of the American of which organization the deceased was a member. Burial was in Highland cemetery.
