TEMPLE — Services for Wallace I. Weaver, 83, of Lexington and formerly of Houston are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Lexington Faith Temple in Lexington.

Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. The Revs. David Harkreader and Jim Moore will officiate.

Mr. Weaver died Monday at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

He was born in Waller County and was a graduate of Waller High School. He had lived in Lexington since 1953 and was formerly of Houston. He was a funeral director with McWilliams Funeral Home in Waller and then Pat. H. Foley Funeral Home in Houston.

Mr. Weaver also was a fruit inspector for the U.S. Agriculture Department and a member of Faith Temple in Lexington. He belonged to the Disabled American Veterans and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a corporal.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Weaver of Lexington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Wayne Jones and Pat and Billy Buetow, all of Lexington; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
