Sarah was born in New Hampshire to Reuben and Sarah (also known as Sally) Cross Thurston. She married Jacob Allard at Eaton in Carroll County, New Hampshire on December 19, 1819 (recorded at Eaton on 8 Feb 1820). They had a large family of about 10 children. In the 1850's they moved from New Hampshire to Illinois; Sally's journey did not last much longer and she died in 1856.
