His parents were Salvatore & Stella Scuitier of 18 Morris Court, Summit, NJ. He had a sister, Barbara. His Paternal Grandmother was Mrs. Marie Payet and his Maternal Grandmother was Josephine Bugajski. The tombstone photos supplied by Daddezio: the plain one with the Holy Mother on it is the headstone and the smaller military stone is a foot stone.
Jim enlisted in the Army. He was a Reconnaissance Specialist and part of Mackenzie's Raiders (Division Reconnaissance). He died outright from artillery, rocket or mortar in South Vietnam. ***There is discrepancy here as some reports have him missing, and captured with Corporal Robert Hunt.
James' plot at St. Teresa's is: Block 11, Row 1, Plot 27 He is buried with his mother, father & Grandma Marie.
He attended Jefferson elementary school in Summit, NJ. Following that he attended Oratory (a private Catholic school also in Summit) and then attended and graduated from Summit High School, Class of '65. After graduation, he worked at S&S Fruit Center of Short Hills, NJ which was owned by his father. His nickname was "Jim".
