Lois passed away at her home in Taylorsville, Utah on January 30, 2009 at the age of 80 after battling cancer for the last four years.


She was born January 5, 1929 in Logan, Utah to Marvin and Grace Kilbourn.


Lois graduated from Morgan High School and attended the Interstate Personology College for four years.


She married Delbert Bennett on April 13, 1946. After Delbert's passing, she married Nelson Akagi on August 21, 1974. Throughout the years that followed Lois enjoyed the time she spent teaching children to read at Fremont Elementary. She loved working with the children and enjoyed her associations with the other teachers.


She is survived by her husband Nelson, brother Vern, children Craig and Scott (Robyn) Bennett, Douglas (Jani) Akagi and Jeanette (Grant) Spencer. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Glenna and sons David and Tracy.


Funeral Services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary at 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy, Utah on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
