OXFORD - Rance Max Bailey, 82, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home. He was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Calhoun County. He was a retired postal worker and a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Grenada Post.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City with the Rev. William Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in New Gauley Cemetery in Calhoun City.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Howell Bailey of Duck Hill; one son, Michael Rance Bailey of Southaven; one daughter, Deborah Kay Jensen (Chris) of Southaven; one stepdaughter, Beth Gaines of Cordova, Tenn.; two sisters, Doris Blackwelder of Duck Hill and Betty Bradford of Calhoun City; two brothers, Rex Bailey of Grenada and Rick Bailey of Southaven; two grandsons, one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard S. 'Dick' Bailey and Ina Kilgore Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Chris Jensen, David Jensen, Steven Jensen, Steve Blackwelder, Terry Hyde and Reginald Henry.
