Charlotte B. Martin, age 91, of Memphis, Indianapolis and Highland, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2002 at the Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by one niece, Shirley (Calvin) Blink of Highland; three nephews: Eugene (Rosemary) Barker of Munster, Richard (Kitty) Little of Israel; several grand nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Owen in 1974, one sister, Adine Little and two brothers, Wade and Clare Barker. Funeral services Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 8:00 P.M. from the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hessville, Indiana, with Rev. Dan Obinger of the Calvary Baptist Church of Highland, officiating. Graveside services Monday, October 28, 2002 at 11:00 a.m., at Memphis Memorial Gardens, in Memphis, Tennessee. Friends are invited to call at Bocken Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 to 5 and from 7:00 p.m. to time of service at 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Martin, a long time resident of the Tennessee area, moved to Indianapolis and then to Highland in 1997 to be close to her family. She was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Gracewood Baptist Church of South Haven, Mississippi, and upon moving to Highland transferred her membership to Calvary Baptist Church of Highland. She was a retired employee having 33 years of service as an Operating Supervisor with Bell South.
