Mary was born in Rich Valley, McLeod County, Minnesota on May 19, 1870. Her birth record lists her as Maria Nawratil, illegitimate, with mother Kate and no father listed. (There were two unmarried Kate Navratils in the area at the time, both in their late teens, unsure which is her mother.) Starting at age 10, in 1880, she shows as a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Navratil) Juracka. That couple had two of their own children, and Mary would have been adopted, or possibly a cousin or niece of Mary Juracka.

She used a variation of the Juracka name, Yourachak or Yourczek, and shows up in the St. Paul directories working in at the Hotel Ryan. She had a daughter Agnes in 1896. Agnes' father was Joseph Franklin, he likely worked in the St. Paul Hotels. They did not marry.
She married Joseph Linhart about 1898. He died suddenly at age 38 on Jan 2, 1903. She had one son fathered by Joseph Linhart, also named Joseph, who was born after his father's death on September 16, 1903.
On June 30 of that year, after her first husband's death and before her son was born, she was married to Vincent Kedrowski, a widower with three young children, in Flensburg, Morrison County, Minnesota.
She and Vincent had two daughters together: Hattie and Victoria.
