Mrs. Rosalie Hinton Atkinson
Mrs. Rosalie Hinton Atkinson, age 89, of Tupelo, died Tuesday, February 8 at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Funeral services were Wednesday, February 9 at Houston Funeral Home. Burial was in Houston Cemetery with Dr. Larry Fields officiating, assisted by Rev. Roy Ware.
The daughter of the late Manley Hinton and the late Lillie Priest, she was a retired school teacher. She was born in Pontotoc County, but lived most of her life in Van Vleet, where she was a member of Van Vleet Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late John B Atkinson.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including her niece, Mrs. Jerry Jernigan, with whom she lived for the past several years.
Pallbearers were Larry Bonds, Shorty Collins, Thomas K Ware, Burton Ware, Joe Ware and George Tucker.
Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
