Former Reynoldsville Resident Succumbs in Home of Daughter in Beechwoods
James B. Deemer a former resident of Reynoldsville, died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul Leach in the Beechwoods, Sunday afternoon at 12:45 o'clock. He had been an invalid for the past 16 years but the immediate cause of his death was a stroke of paralysis. He was 81 years of age.
The deceased was born in Deemer's Crossroads, near Reynoldsville, Dec. 27, 1856, a son of Zachariah and Sarah (Best) Deemer. Fifty four years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Hetrick who preceded him in death by two years.
The couple made their home in Reynoldsville a number of years but more than a year ago Mr. Deemer went to the Beechwoods to make his home with his daughter. He was a charter member of the John F. Black Men's Bible Class of the Methodist Church.
His death is sincerely mourned throughout his home community since he had maintained a keen interest in living and in his many friends despite his invalidism.
He is survived by the following: five daughters Mrs. Alda Hartless, Mrs. Dora Dickey, Mrs. Ruby Smith, all of Reynoldsville; Mrs. Elizabeth Chaney of Clawson, Mich; Mrs. Paul Leach of Beechwoods; SONS: (?)arl Deemer of Detroit, Mich; Ray of Berkley, Mich. and Asa of Kittanning. One brother K.B. Deemer of Deemers Crossroads, also survives.
