Alice Kay Gerritsen, 76 passed away on August 22, 2008 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eva Mary Hall and Archie Wilford Hunter.

Mom was reared and educated in Salt Lake City, later moving to Ogden.

In October of 1947 she married Marvin Gerritsen. To this union, four sons were born.

Mom worked at Woolworths for a short time, but spent her days being a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, watching old musicals and listening to oldies music from the 40's & 50's.

One of her greatest joys was babysitting and will always be remembered for her childlike love for Christmas and all of her pets.

Mom is survived by her four sons, Chris, Curt (Teresa), Carey (Beckie) and Tony; one brother, James Hunter of Cottonwood Heights, UT.; one sister Marie Kone of Ogden; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin and one sister Evelyn. She will be greatly missed by her companions Maggie (Fufu) and Babbett.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 29, 2008 at 1:30 pm at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street in Ogden, UT. Family and friends may call on Thursday August 28, 2008 from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services at Leavitt's. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff and doctors of McKay Dee Hospital for the care and comfort that they gave to our mother. Also a special thanks to Clara Taylor, Gary Palmer and Carolyn Erickson.

The family would like to thank cousins, Diane & Robert Shupe for all the special help with the arrangements. Also Mike Leavitt and Leavitt's Mortuary for all the special care given.
