Robert Corwin Singleton, Feb 26, in Oberlin, Ohio. A metallurgical engineering major, he worked as a welder in San Francisco shipyards during World War II. After the war, Bob rose from welder to vice president and general manager at Nelson Stud Welding, before retiring in 1981. He was an expert in the field of welding, co-authoring a college textbook on the subject and co-developing a patented welding process for the Nelson composit beam. He belonged to several community service committees and organizations and foundations, sat on the boards of several of them, and was a former president of the United Way of Greater Lorain County. He his survived by five children and eight grandchildren.
