Doris Bain, 26, wife of Louie Mack Bain, died instantly about 5:45 p.m. Monday afternoon when their car, driven by Mr. Bain, hit a parked truck on the Lilbourn-Parma road, just west of Catron. The Bains are engaged in farming near Catron and were going west at the time of the accident. Meeting an oncoming automobile, the driver was unable to see the parked truck because of the lights blinding his vision. He swerved too late. Mr. Bain and his 3 year old son Donald Ray, suffered scalp injuries. They were taken to the Delta Hospital, but released Tuesday. Mrs. Bain was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Chastain of Matthews, and was united in marriage to Louie Mack Bain in January 1943. They have two children, Donald Ray 3 and Melanie Rejina 3 months. Besides her parents, husband and children she leaves three sisters, Jyme Neil Bridges of Paragould, Ark.; Opal Raye Jackson of St. Louis and Ina Jean at home; two brothers, James L. Chastain of Catron and William at home. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Church of Christ by J.A. McNutt of Paragould, Ark. Interment was made in the Mounds Park Cemetery. Louie Mack was well known here, having been born and reared near Steele. He graduated from the local High School with the class of 1940. Before moving to Catron several years ago he farmed near Steele. Many friends and relatives from Steele and vicinity attended the funeral Wednesday afternoon.
