Was this James Blain the son of Robert Blaine?
Robert Blaine -d. 1773. Historians called Robert Blain the brother of James Blain *, the immigrant who came with the Scottish Irish flood that came in 1745 from Londonderry, Ireland to Donegal, PA., and removed to Cumberland County. Source: Source: 1991 Hutton Book.
* James Blain (1715-1792), Toboyne, Cumberland Co., PA., his son was Col. Ephriam (1741-1803), died in Carlise.

Another unknown relation was Thomas Blane (Blain) 1748-1807, FAG #26621379. He served in Rev. War and buried in same cemetery. He married Sarah Wilson, and their children were similar in age and like first names of subject, Lt. James. This pattern of like first names seems to carry among the early Scottish-Irish Blain settlers and generations to follow that stretched beyond the borders of Pennsylvania.
Thomas Blane (Blain) will, of 1807 provided their names as; Jane m. James Blain, Mary m. Alexander Murry, Sarah m. Robert Alexander, James, Elenor, John, Thomas, Elizabeth and Margaret Blain.
