Ray McFadden Strait, 85, died Tuesday in Cowiche.
Mr. Strait was born in Seneca, Mo., and moved to Cowiche in 1930. He worked in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, before serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and later was a refrigeration engineer for C.M. Holtzinger Fruit Co., remaining with them until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, of Yakima; and a brother, Max R. Strait of Yakima.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel.
