Carl Henry Brinkman

Carl Henry Brinkman died Monday, Feb. 24 at 3 o'clock, at his residence, having reached the age of 64 years, 5 months, and 4 days. Deceased was born in Rehme, Prussia, Germany, and came to America as a two-year-old boy. On Nov. 25, 1869, he was united in marriage with Miss Louise Johannismeier. Fourteen children were born to this union, five having preceded the father in death. About two years ago Mr. Brinkman moved to our town into the new house which he had erected. He leaves the following children: William, August, Herman, Henry, Mrs. John Schmidt of St. Louis, Mrs. Fred Horstman of here, Mrs. Hy. Nehrt of Covington, Mrs. Richard Bertram of St. Louis and Mrs. Fred Osiek of Covington, also 15 grandchildren and a large circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Koestering officiating. Interment was made in the local cemetery.
