Died at 4 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 1980, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center. She was 75, a native of Birch Tree, Mo., and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a retired nurse from Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Visiting from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. Religious services at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Carter. Burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Billie Ruth) Richard, Baton Rouge; two sons, Herman Keel Gathright Jr., Houston, and Alton Wayne Gathright, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Jimmy (Hazel) Baker, Minden, Mrs. Helen Brown, Columbia, and Mrs. Hattie Jordan and Mrs. Hildred Brown, both of California; a brother, Herman Chilton, Monroe; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Herman K. Gathright Sr.

She was a member of North Baton Rouge Methodist Church.
