Lillie was murdered by her husband of 3 weeks
Mrs. Adams married her second husband July 19, according to the police, after being divorced from Master Sgt. E. T. Richardson several months ago. Richardson turned over all the community property to his wife, including the home at 353 Yale Avenue, the automobile in which the body was found, a barber shop at Fort Sam Houston and other personal property. Richardson is retired and has left the State, officers said.
Adams was employed in the barber shop which was owned by Sgt. Richardson and continued to conduct the business after he married.
Detectives' early Monday morning searched the home of the dead woman and found that it had been ransacked. Trunks and drawers had been emptied and the contents seem to have been hurriedly pushed back. No papers of any character were found nor were any clothing bearing laundry marks which could have identified the owner with the exception of those of the woman found
Mrs. Adams leaves a mother, Mrs. R. T. Linder, 430 Drexel Avenue, San Antonio, and four sisters, Mrs. Nora McCabe, Mrs. Jessie Castellaw, and Mrs. Rosie Collenbach of San Antonio and Mrs. Fannie Shedd of Taft; four brothers, John, Ben, and Allie Linder of San Antonio and James Linder of Gillette.
