SAREPTA, LA – A Service Celebrating the life of Asberry Mercer Dodge, 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Rose-Neath Chapel, Vivian, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Marty Wright of New Sarepta Baptist Church in Sarepta, LA. Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery, Fouke, AR, with Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Rose-Neath.
Asberry was born November 18, 1935 in Vivian, LA to Susie Hart Dodge and Asberry Mercer Dodge and passed away January 31, 2019, in Bossier City, LA. He served his country in the United States Navy. Asberry retired as Post Master with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
Preceding Asberry in death were his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Jessie Dodge of Bossier City, LA; his son, Kenton Dodge of Sarepta, LA; his daughters, Ann Reeve and husband Danny of Jasper, TX and Kellie Henson and husband Shane of Atlanta, TX; sister, Mercedese Ivins of Canton, TX; grandchildren, Kristin Dimitry, Ryan Reeve, Lacey Girod, Landon Henson, Reagan Dodge and Layton Henson; 6 great- granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Honoring Asberry as pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Asberry Mercer Dodge, Jr., a son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, US Navy veteran, and US Postal worker (retired) Postmaster has passed on the evening of Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home, Bossier City, LA.
Mr. Dodge was a resident since January 10, 2011 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home, Bossier City,.Louisiana. He was peacefully promoted to heaven in his sleep Thursday night.
He is survived by his beloved wife Jessie Cooper Dodge of Sarepta, LA, son Kenton Bryan Dodge of Sarepta, LA, daughter Kimberly Ann Dodge Reeve of Jasper, TX, daughter Kellie Diane Dodge Henson of Bivins, TX, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren..
Visitation will be prior to funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019.
Funeral services begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce St., Vivian, LA 71082, phone (318) 317-2161.
