Birth: 1830
Death: Mar. 22, 1865

In 1850 census his name was spelled Lanson Begraf he is working as a laborer in Sussex County New Jersey. He marries Hannah Lozier within the year. They moved to Goshen, NY sometime before 1860. Anslem was a private in Company G of the 40th Regiment of the New York volunteers. He was taken sick with typhoid fever and diarrhea and died of chronic diarrhea on 22 March 1865 in City Point, Virginia. He was mustered into service on the 20th of September 1864 at Goshen, New York for one year of service, he was dead within six months. Their children were Mary, David, Ansolum (stillborn), John, Pheobe and William (my great great grandfather).
