Clinton resident, Michael Sage died at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Son of Nelson Jr. and Lyeia (Youngbear) Sage, he was raised and attended school in Geary, serving in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1973.

A direct descendant of the Arapaho Chief Powderface and Chief Littleraven, Sage loved to cook Indian food for Indian dances and Indian Falls Creek at the Glorietta Baptist Church. He enjoyed sports and was a pitcher for Indian softball games, having pitched for a team which went to the national finals four years in a row.

Sage was employed by Clinton Indian Health Services. He was a member of the Swapping Back Baptist Church, Southwest Vietnam Veterans, Arapaho Sundance Lodge at Ethele, Wyo., vice-chairman of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Labor Day Celebration and an Arapaho chief this past year.
